The Cypress Ranch Classics will be kicking off the 2017/108 year with our Director, Ms. Sandi Dunn.

Ms. Dunn is a born and raised Houstonian that began her dance career at the age of 10. She began her dance training at a local studio serving as a junior company member and training in ballet, jazz, tap, and pointe. Ms. Dunn went on to join the Northbrook High School Bandoleras when she entered into high school. During her time in high school she served as a 1st lieutenant her junior year, and as Colonel her senior year.

After high school, Ms. Dunn became a dance major at Texas State University where she was also a 3 year member of the World Famous Texas State Strutter Dance Team and served as a line officer her senior year. While in college, Ms. Dunn had the opportunity to perform with the Strutters in Hawaii and Mexico. She was also selected as a college assistant for the Texas Dance Educators All State Dance Team, worked for ShowMakers of America camps and competition company, and received numerous dance scholarships. Ms. Dunn graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Dance with teaching certification and also holds her Masters of Education in School Counseling.

 

Ms. Dunn served as the assistant director of the newly formed Woodlands College Park High School Reveliers Dance Team for 5 years and as the head director of the Humble Wildcatdets for 3 years. This is Ms. Dunn’s 11th year as a teacher and loves to share her love and passion of drill team with her students along with helping implement strong character, integrity, and class in all of her students. Ms. Dunn is honored and excited to be the third director of the Cy Ranch Classics and looking forward to a lot of adventures and memories to come!
